Editorial Note

I'm thinking of dropping this blog.

Please don't! Are you trying to extort something from your readership? What do you want?

Why? I like this blog!

I would be sad if you did. I appreciate the mix of travel & political insight (and book reviews) that you do.

Sorry that I have not commented more frequently (ever?) before.

On the other hand, I understand that life can get busy and blogging can seem like a burden - I certainly don't update my blog with any frequency; I fully realize that I am in no position to criticize your decision.

Anyway - if you pull this blog it will be missed.

Please keep it up! Your work is a breath of fresh air on my bloglines page.

Whatever you choose, thanks for all the work you've done.

Please do not turn this off as I will lose one of my best writing teachers.

I know I don't read as often as I should, but I'm always impressed when I do. Clearly, it's a labor of love (emphasis on the labor); if it is no longer rewarding, you shouldn't just go through the motions.

Clearly "Knife Tricks" is a labor of love (emphasis on labor); if it's no longer rewarding, you shouldn't go through the motions. But whenever I read it, I'm always impressed.

I enjoy this blog, it is the only one I read. I like your discussion of travel and being an expatriate. As a lawyer I like your discussion of foreign lawyers and governments. I think your social commentary is awesome.

"By this point, one fact had become obvious: to the male of the species, Bumrungrad was heaven on earth. The male-female ratio among the employees was easily 1 to 5, probably higher. Most of the physicians were men, while almost all of the nurses, assistants, clerks, orderlies and custodians were women. I should see if they need a staff lawyer."

A passage like this embodies what is awesome about your blog. Taking a vacation to a hospital that caters to expatriates to have your wisdom teeth extracted is an awesome idea. Hearing about how the hospital is staffed by hotties increases the appeal of this vacation.

Keep on writing about the cool shit you do (like the North Korea trip) so I can live vicariously through you.

Sniff...this is like the end of "It's a Wonderful Life."

To PKL, the richest blogger in town.

You can't quit show business. It's in your blood.

As a blogger, I can relate! A blog is a very liberating experience, but it's also a lot of work... If you feel you are overwhelmed by your blog, try to think back on your first motivations (get back to your sources) and try to get back your energy from it... It may also help to reduce the frequency for a while... Wishing you all the best!!

Stop writing this blog and I'll out you for the closet liberal you really are.

PKL, we all know that you are one smart MoFo (lawyer pun). Don't let this form of self-expression go dude. One day, you will look back on your life and I hope you will think back to that time when you wrote a blog and helped others with your experience and insights. You DO have some great things to say!! Congrats on your courage to keep this going for this long. See you out on the battlefield.
