Red Sox World
The implosion of the Boston Red Sox at the hands of the New York Yankees is the second-biggest sports story in Asia. (The biggest is the Pakistani cricket contretemps. What? You're not following that?)
The Yankees swept a five-game series against the Red Sox in Fenway Park. The Yankees currently lead the American League East by 6 1/2 games over Boston.
ESPN Asia airs a package every hour or so, as does CNN International. BBC and NHK are on the story, too. Even the Thai-language newspapers and television stations are covering it.
The Red Sox are being embarrassed on a global scale. Sox fans may now return to their natural state of pre-2004 depressed fatalism.

Ain't gonna happen Paul. Are we depressed? Yes. Pissed? A little? Disappointed? Greatly. But the Whole Wild World will be disappointed if it's looking for some fatalistic, woe-is-us silliness. Can't we crushed without having that foisted upon our heads?
Oh yeah, Yankees (and Dodgers) Suck.
Are you trying to torture Pizzello from afar for his upcoming B-day weekend? Nice gift.
I for one welcome our return to utter demoralization. What's so bad about it? The Red Sox should show you what life is like.
On an arguably related note: I am unable correctly to spell the word verification word about 50% of the time.
I always have to double check misspelling. It just never looks right. Back to Baseball..
ouuuch
The defending division champion Padres have won 10 of their last 11 against their biggest rival. By winning the first two of the three-game series, the Padres ended the Dodgers’ string of seven straight series victories. That Dodgers’ run began after they were swept by the Padres at Dodger Stadium July 24-26.
All I can say is, September is "Tommy Time." Go Pats...
Only tortured temporarily,
Pizzello
